Training Courses All training programs comply with ANSI/ASSE Z359.2 - Minimum Requirements for a Comprehensive Managed Fall Protection Program as well as the applicable occupational safety laws of the jurisdiction in which the training is being delivered (OSHA 1926.503, 1910.30, CalOSHA, WA DOSH, Oregon OSHA, EM385, etc.). WAH Training includes:
Competent Person The Competent Person course is designed for people that directly influence the fall protection program by implementing policies, supervising work, selecting equipment, taking corrective actions, and being a resource to others. This course is best suited for those people that have a level of authority within the fall protection program to identify and control fall hazards. Most people with the competent person title are responsible for fall protection for a group of people, work area, work process, all equipment, or training and supervision of others. This course is designed for trainers, trades, supervisors, educators, human resources, or safety personnel that will deliver fall protection training events to staff. This program builds off the existing training and experience of the instructor and empowers them to customize training events to the employer, jurisdiction, and equipment in use. This program enables a trainer to deliver and document several different training events and training levels including new hire orientations, initial courses, refresher courses, pre-work training, tool-box talks, remedial training, new product/system training, challenge tests, and fall protection observations of performance. This course includes a significant element of participation in hands-on exercises, evaluation workshops and discussions. At the conclusion of this course, Trainers can develop and deliver training to Authorized Person and Competent Person levels for their organization. Link to Trainer Description. Authorized Person (User) The Authorized Person course is designed for people who work at height and experience exposure to fall hazards. This course includes information, demonstration, and hands-on exercises for each item of all protection equipment that a person is expected to use. This course reviews, demonstrates, and verifies that all students can conduct a pre-use inspection, connect to, wear, and operate all fall protection equipment that the employer has available to them.
